Exploring New York: Photo Walk with a camera and 2 lenses
A walk in New York with a camera, 2 lenses, a reflective panel and a model.
I was in New York for a few days for a wedding and decided to organize a late afternoon photo walk to try out a new camera, a couple of lenses, a reflective panel and a model. My collaborator and friend, Alessandro, put together this video, which includes some behind-the-scenes footage of me shooting, along with the final images. I chose to work exclusively in black and white, and I really loved the results! Our route took us along Lexington, 5th Avenue and through Central Park.
I had a blast testing out this super wide-angle lens! I was playing around with the skyscraper lines and the way the sunlight made cool shadows. I tried my best to frame the shots so the buildings didn't look too warped. I also switched to a 35mm lens for some more 'regular' pictures, especially in Central Park. And I used a reflector to balance out the strong backlighting, which meant I didn't have to use a flash..
A big thanks to Mitzi for volunteering for the shoot!
