I’m FLAVIO BANDIERA

Born and raised in northern Italy, I watched my father take photos in the studio and develop and print them in the darkroom. Needless to say, I immediately became passionate about it, making the camera an irreplaceable accessory for every occasion.

After studying computer science, I realized that photography was really my favorite field, so I decided to make it my profession at the age of 24. After several experiences with studio portraits and landscapes, however, I decided to combine the two specializations, discovering the expressive magic of wedding photography.

I was lucky enough to be born in one of the richest countries in art in the world and this helped me develop a very pronounced artistic sense. Furthermore my father, landscape photographer, always pushed me to study the great authors of Italian and European painting since I was very young, and I believe this had a great influence on my photographic path.

It's incredible how sometimes I find myself looking for lights and compositions that over time I have seen and studied in galleries or photography and painting exhibitions, perhaps the assimilation that my family offered me, after all, worked.

My way of expressing myself photographically reflects not only contemporaneity, but also the classical sense that has always accompanied me, because I am convinced that the photographs I take at a wedding today must be interesting and fascinating even in a long time. This is what I call timeless photography.

MY MANIFESTO

When a photographer's PASSION FOR PHOTOGRAPHY and for PEOPLE combines with EXPERIENCE, the result is an EXTRAORDINARY ADDED VALUE for each client.

I have been photographing weddings and couples since 1991 in Italy, while in 1999 I founded Flavio Bandiera Photography and on 2004 I crossed the borders starting to work in Europe for people from all over.

In 2009 I started traveling around the world to photograph weddings both in America and Asia, having the fortune of meeting extraordinary people, who pushed me to grow professionally allowing me to work in incredibly beautiful contexts.

Thanks to the experience gained in the field of receptions and entertainment I specialized in photographing small and large private parties, occasions in which promptness and precision, combined with creativity, allow me to give each client a special memory on the occasion of every event.

In each assignment my goal is to capture nuances and smiles, emotions and delicacy, objects that recall the importance of the day, wonderful views of the environments, but my focus is above all dedicated to recording the beauty of the LOVE of each couple and the relationships between the guests, highlighting the arrangements and the magnificence of the location that hosts the event.

Get to know me

I have seen hundreds of families being born and on this site you can see some of them, but here I present mine! I was lucky enough to meet a wonderful woman, Mihaela, who gave me the joy of our existence: Aurora.

We live in northern Italy and as soon as we can we travel to explore the most interesting corners of the world.

We often combine my work with short vacations, so that Aurora can understand how important it is to explore our planet and how beautiful it is to meet people from other cultures distant from ours.

Having a globetrotting dad, at just 7 years old she has already been able to visit 9 different countries.

OUR WORLD

LOVE that spreads throughout the globe

So, I'm a wedding photographer, and get this – most of the time, I'm traveling! Like, 90% of my work is in other countries! But, I also get to photograph awesome weddings for people visiting Italy, especially in super cool places like Lake Como, Tuscany, Venice, Rome, and the Amalfi Coast. And since I live pretty close to Switzerland, I get to work there a lot too!

Every year, I also go to Northern Europe, the UK, and even the USA to shoot weddings! And guess what? I've even been to Hong Kong and South Africa! One of my favorite places in Europe is France, especially this beautiful area called the Loire Valley (Château Challain 🤍). I'm there a lot!

Plus, I do many fun pre-wedding photoshoots in Paris, London and Rome.

That is why, in 2006, I founded ANFM, the first national photographic association in Italy dedicated to wedding photographers.

Over the years, ANFM has grown to become the largest and most influential association in the country in the sector and, since 2022, I have the honor of holding the role of President.
